2026 Civil Rights Movement Family Reunion

Friday, December 4, 2026 | Montgomery, Alabama

Rosa Parks’s courageous act of civil disobedience may have sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott, but it was the courage and sacrifice of an entire community that sustained it.

The Southern Youth Leadership Development Institute's Civil Rights Movement Family Reunion is a private, invitation-only event that celebrates the men and women, and their families, who have organized, led, and sustained the Civil Rights Movement since 1955.

The reunion offers time to reconnect and remember as families come together to explore the exhibitions and reflect on the people, experiences, and sacrifices that shaped the Civil Rights Movement.
