Youth Enrichment Program

Molding Leaders for the Future

The Southern Youth Leadership Development Institute invites students within the Montgomery Public Schools between ages 12-18 to attend the 2023 Youth Enrichment Program. The program begins on June 5th through July 28th. Led by civil rights activists, educators, college students and licensed healthcare providers, the Youth Enrichment Program is designed to train youth to combat inequalities in education through CTI (Cultivating, Training and Inspiring). We will introduce students to the following educational modules through field trips, face-to-face, and virtual engagement: Civic Engagement, Leadership Development, Mental and Physical Health & Wellness, Academic Support, Career Readiness, Financial Literacy and Written and Verbal Communications – invaluable skills and preparation for emerging student leaders.

We are requesting that you recommend students for this selective opportunity based on your evaluation using the following criteria: demonstrated respect for peers and adults; academic performance; ability to focus; perseverance; self-regulation and willingness to improve the conditions in and around their communities. Once you have identified the students who meet the aforementioned criteria, please direct their parents to complete the preliminary registration form here. Please note that we are limiting registration to twenty-five students. Please be mindful that May 15, 2023, is the deadline for priority consideration.

We are eager to work with students within the Montgomery Public Schools. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. You may email southernyouthleadership@gmail.com for further information.

Thank you for your support as we reach, teach, touch and transform the next generation of future leaders.

Sincerely,

Doris Dozier Crenshaw Founder and CEO
